This BBQ Jackfruit Hawaiian Vegan Pizza was a blast to perfect. Each time I made it I discovered an even better, and easier way, to get it to come together.
This is the perfect pizza to share with your family and friends.
BBQ Jackfruit Hawaiian Pizza
The crust of this pizza is very delicious. Cook it a little more for a crispy crust and a little less for a softer crust.
Ingredients for crust:
- 2 heads cauliflower
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 Tbsp coconut oil to grease the pan
- Sunflower oil to drizzle
- 3 Tbsp ground flaxseed + 8 Tbsp water
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 6 Tbsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tsp oregano
- 2 tsp basil
- 2 Tbsp arrowroot starch
- 2.5 cups flour
Ingredients for pizza toppings:
- 1/2 small can tomato sauce.
- 1 -2 Tbsp oregano
- 1 small onion diced
- 1/2 red pepper diced
- 1 package BBQ Jackfruit
- 1/2 cup pineapple chopped
- 2 packages Daiya Cheese shreds mozza & cheddar
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Wash and roughly chop up cauliflower to bite size pieces.
Place cauliflower and garlic clove on a pan greased with coconut oil.
Drizzle with sunflower oil.
Bake for 30 minutes or until soft and allow to cool.
Place cauliflower and 6 cloves roasted garlic in food processor. Process until smooth.
Separately, place the flax and water mixture in a large bowl and allow to set.
Add salt, oregano, basil and arrowroot starch and stir until mixed.
Add callower mixture to the bowl and mix.
Add flour 2/3 cup at a time until doughy consistency.
Place parchment paper on a pizza pan.
Lightly dust dough with flour and spread out with hands or a small rolling pin to the edges.
Bake for 40 minutes.
Optional: Flip and bake for 10 minutes more. You may not need to do this depending on the pan you use, the oven and your desired crust crispiness.
Place toppings on crust and bake for 10 minutes or so.
Optional: Broil for 2-5 minutes to brown the cheese. However, if you use a stoneware pizza pan, as I do, it is not recommended that your broil as the high heat may ruin your pan.
